Two Nightstands and the Power of Paint

Ew right? This won’t be a long post but I just wanted to show you the power of paint. I had a customer request a pair of night stands. I found these separately and could have sworn they were a perfect match (as far as style goes), but I brought the second one home and realized they were similar but not exact. I was kind of bummed that the legs didn’t match however I loved that they varied in shape, I think it gives a room character. I actually liked the variation so much I was going to keep them for our own bedroom but my customer could see the same potential!  I did a coat of Zinsser primer, then Annie Sloan old white paint topped with a custom light turquoise chalk paint. I distressed them like crazy using a combination of 80 grit sandpaper and a razor blade. I then added different hardware and a pair of matching baskets. They turned out SO awesome and now coordinate perfectly.  I love what a little paint can do!
